At the same time, you also need to consider something called ‘LSI’ or ‘Latent Semantic Indexing’. This is basically a fancy term that explains how Google now understands actual meaning rather than just looking to match words. The way it does this is at least partly by looking for synonyms and related terms when trying to answer questions. In short, don’t just use the exact keyphrase but be sure to use lots of relevant and related language. Google doesn’t want to deliver you “results” anymore, they want to deliver answers.
And the best answers don’t come from content farms, they come from websites that
are crafted with their visitors -- human beings -- in mind. Give the search engines some time to do their thing (a couple days, or even
weeks) and then keep checking your rank to see what happened and track
your progress. Don’t try and stuff keywords where they don’t belong. Yes, still focus on keywords, but your north star for everything you write should be the user. A lot of SEOs will tell you to fix the foundation of your website, meaning the template. I think content is the foundation of the website and your template(s) should serve that content.
How Search Engines Evaluate Authority
Backlinks from relevant sites in your niche are also worth significantly more than irrelevant sites or pages Keyword research is a critical component of SEO. What search terms do people use when searching for products or services similar to yours? How do those terms match up with your site hierarchy? If you have covered the technical issues of a new website, you’ll have properly prepared your site for all the great content you’ll be adding. You may not want certain pages of your site crawled because they
might not be useful to users if found in a search engine's search
results. If you do want to prevent search engines from crawling your
pages, Google Webmaster Tools has a friendly robots.txt generator to
help you create this file. Quite simply, the better your SEO, the higher the chance your article will appear in a relevant search. This means people will find what they’re looking for more easily, and you’ll get more readers.
Utilize social media for link building and building a brand
A site’s age has an influence on that site’s ranking. A site that has been around for a long time can be seen as more reputable. Plus, it gives Google a background in determining a site’s trustworthiness. Basically, site age lets Google know your site is legit. Google’s robots, or “spiders,” crawl the Internet by “clicking” one link after another after another. They discover new pages and websites as part of that crawl, and store the content of each of those pages in a giant database. It is better to have your links spread out amongst a lot of domains with targeted, but diverse anchor text then it is to have a ton of backlinks from one domain. The more comprehensive and targeted your backlink profile is, the higher you will rank. There are many reasons why SEO is an important part of your marketing strategy. Content marketing is a highly viable digital marketing strategy, designed to attract and drive traffic to your website or specific landing pages Great content marketing isn’t self-promotional. It’s useful and meaningful to the target audience.
Content is for humans
Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull, had the following to say: "Customers today are on mobile for a large part of their digital experience. More searches today take place on mobile. Compared to desktop, mobile devices now account for 65 percent of all digital time spent. All content produced should serve the needs of customers on these devices through responsive web design, fast mobile load times, page navigation and layouts that reflect the needs of mobile users." Build links as if Google didn’t even exist – links that will bring you customers in addition to rankings. For some reason, everyone thinks posting a blog on your own website will magically increase your SEO presence and make your website stronger. The safest way to ensure there are no duplicate content problems is to use a rel=canonical tag on the republished article. This will tell Google that the linked article is the original and therefore should be indexed, and any ranking benefits will be passed through. When searching on mobile, there is a huge difference with desktop: Google knows exactly where you are and the results you get are customized according to your physical location.
How should I take care of this?
Google is showing Context is King when it comes to indexing people in Google's Index. LSI is just a fancy way of saying that Google understands when other phrases match the central keyword. So, if we were talking something like make money fast we could also use phrases like generate cash quickly, which is the same thing effectively. Onpage optimization (AKA on-page SEO) refers to all measures that can be taken directly within the website in order to improve its position in the search rankings. Don’t try to improve your website’s reputation by buying
links or deliberately sharing links. Google has become very good at
detecting these types of manipulative measures. It means that you
risk falling heavily down in the rankings and it can destroy much of
what you have spent time and money on creating. Social signals may not play a direct role in ranking your site. But social shares generate more eyeballs on your content. And the more eyeballs you get, the more likely someone is to link to you.
Use basic math to narrow down your search results
The proliferation of smartphones and tablets mean more and more consumers will be viewing your website on the much smaller screen of a mobile device. For a good user experience, make sure your website is mobile responsive, rendering correctly on a desktop, laptop, tablet and smartphone. SEO is the process of implementing strategies and techniques (both on site and off site) in an effort to achieve a higher rank in search results. Typically, the higher a site is in search results, the more visitors it receives. The website with the most links, as well as the most valuable links, wins a higher “rank” in popularity. On regular pages and posts, Google will most probably grab a piece of related content, including the keyword used in the search query. That makes a lot of sense for news sites, for example. Still, I recommend adding a meta description to all your important pages. SEO is not the techniques we use to get our sites to the top of Google. SEO is simply the objective of getting to the top of Google. Any technique you use to try and get more attention from Google could be considered SEO.
